HISTORY
Sponsored by KOBE LIONS CLUB (current Kobe Host Lions club) on 8th November 1957, Our KOBE EAST LIONS CLUB was established in the beautiful city of Kobe.
Since then, we have been one of most active Lions Club in the District of 335-A Japan.
Our club is the 60th club in Japan and 3rd in 335A District. Date of Charter night was 29th March 1958.

One of the important and valuable programs "LIONS CLUB YOUTH EXCHANGE" was initially programmed by our KOBE EAST LIONS CLUB in 1960 with the start of between 13 American and 9 Japanese youth.

HANSHIN-AWAJI GREAT EARTHQUAKU
On January 17 1995, at 05:46, Hanshin-Awaji great earthquake of magnitude 7.2 attacked our city of Kobe. By this disaster, 6,430 people died and 43,773 people were injured. About 105,000 houses were totally collapsed, and about 144,000 houses were half collapsed.

Many overseas Lions Clubs and local Japanese Lions Clubs passed us tremendous support and help.
We will never forget this warm hearted friendships.

1972 2000 trees planting at YAMATE-KANSEN road
1977 Donated CLOCK TOWER at Shin-Kobe Station
1982 Donated "MUKONO-IZUMI", at terminal of Shin-Kobe Station
1979-83 Donated JP Yen 5,000,000 in total for building women's school in Nepal
1987 Donated JP Yen 10,000,000 for Kobe Mentally Retarded Children Association
1992 Donated JP Yen 5,000,000 for the foundation of Hyogo Eye-Bank Association
1997 Volunteer work for elderly persons care
Others assist for Hyogo Guide Dog Association, Hyogo Handicapped Children Association etc
